SPRING INTO GIVING

THANK Y0U!

We rejoice as we see God’s continued faithfulness in providing the resources we need so all our students may have the opportunity to flourish at ECS. Compelled by the Holy Spirit, our community gave $50,000 during our Spring into Giving week helping us move closer to our $500,000 Annual Fund need.

Our 2024-2025 Annual Fund helps to ensure we can deliver the full ECS experience to every student, Little Eagles through 12th grade, which includes provisions for security, athletics, teacher development and fine arts.

Through this year’s Annual Fund we have been able to achieve the following:

  • Complete library and enhanced play area for Upper Elementary (4th-6th grades)
  • Acquire LED video wall for Fine Arts performances
  • Maintain trained security personnel at both campuses
  • Honor teachers with professional development opportunities
  • Equip student-athletes with innovative tools to pursue excellence
  • And much more!

We also had a great time engaging our lower school families with a participation-focused fundraising competition. Congratulations to our Little Eagles who placed first in the competition, winning a pizza party! Junior Kindergarten came in at second place, and the third grade was in third. We appreciate the great participation at our lower school!

With Spring into Giving wrapped up, we are now $70,000 shy of meeting our Annual Fund need for the academic year. Your support is critical! 100% tax-deductible gifts to the Annual Fund may be made any time.

Your gifts to the ECS ANNUAL FUND will support these funds:

Jim Heinz Athletics Fund

Named in memory of a man who led multiple ECS teams to state championships in football and baseball, we strive to honor the legacy of Hall of Fame Coach Jim Heinz  through this fund designed to support and upgrade athletics facilities on the Shelby Farms campus. Most prominently we have updated our varsity locker room with refurbished lockers, new flooring and other amenities. We have also been able to acquire innovative, sport-specific tools building up our student-athletes as they pursue excellence. Support for these types of consistent improvements will help develop our student-athletes physically to better compete with our peer schools across the state. We also have the privilege of developing them spiritually in Christian discipleship offered by coaches who share Coach Heinz’s goal of building godly leaders for life.

Fine Arts Fund

The ECS Fine Arts department is one of the most recognized programs in the region. In recent years ECS has won "Most Outstanding” awards presented by the Orpheum in several categories, which includes a competitive field of public and private schools. In order to continue to offer our students the best Fine Arts experience possible, the Fine Arts fund has allowed us to acquire a state-of-the-art LED video wall creating radiant backdrops and scenery for our productions. We have also re-introduced our pottery studio and upgraded our chapel lighting in the Mark Brink Auditorium. Your support for the Fine Arts fund enables us maintain our standards of excellence in all of Fine Arts.

Dee Baker Teacher Development Fund

We often hear from our students and alumni about the lasting impact that our teachers make on their academic, social, emotional and spiritual lives. Coach Dee Baker, in whose memory this fund was established, is an example of one such teacher who greatly impacted students during his 39 years of teaching and coaching at ECS. As a way to honor Coach Baker’s legacy, the teacher development fund will help us seek, hire and retain mission-fit teachers and train them in ongoing professional development to pursue excellence both inside and outside of the classroom. This fund allows ECS to reward our teachers who participate in a summer institute where they will grow vital skills benefiting all ECS students.

Security Fund

Student safety is at the forefront of every parent’s mind in today’s world. Under the experienced guidance of Security Directors Mike and Lora Strauss, ECS has made significant strides over the last several years to ensure that both of our campuses are more secure than ever before. We have now successfully enclosed our Lower School with fencing around the perimeter of our Germantown campus. We also continue to add security cameras to both campuses. Our community’s consistent support means we maintain trained personnel at both campuses, while making constant improvements as needed, creating the safest environment for all our students, teachers, coaches and administrators.

With your gift to the ECS ANNUAL FUND, you will help ECS continue to do what it does best – offer excellent academics in the context of biblical discipleship. We are so grateful for your partnership as we seek to build students for life.
