Class of 2020 Top Scholars were honored.
Since 2004, ECS has honored the top ten percent of each graduating class with an elegant banquet and tributes from faculty. The students, their parents, and faculty/staff members are invited to celebrate the academic achievements of these outstanding scholars. Each student requests one teacher with whom they have a close relationship to speak. Also as part of the program, the scholar chosen to receive the E. Brady Bartusch Scholarship/Leadership Award is announced.
On June 4, the Top Scholars of the ECS Class of 2020 were honored, albeit in a different venue from years past due to social distancing regulations. In the ECS Chapel, Head of School Braxton Brady opened the evening with prayer and made introductory comments. The following faculty members offered tributes regarding the honored students: Jennifer Fratesi (Ainslee Berry), Robert Jones (Preston Daniel), Seth Holler (Ben Greene), Jenny Shorten (Jacob Mohler), Dawn Shute (Anna Grace McCarty), Kyle Story (Jonathan Morris), Shanan Stevens (Gracie Plunk - Valedictorian), Kim Arnwine (Margaret Porter) and Ben Todd (John Webster - Salutatorian).
The E. Brady Bartusch Scholarship/Leadership Award honors the top scholar who best embodies the ECS mission. Mr. Brady presented the award to this year's honoree, Gracie Plunk.
