  • The ultimate purpose of the debate club is to field a competitive debate team from the student body at ECS. The secondary purpose, however, is to give our students the tools to be able to work through topics in a healthy and respectful way. In Debate Club, we will look at how to form and respond to an argument, how to support an argument using evidence and facts, and how to divorce personal belief and emotions from a topic. We will do this by practicing and staging debates both on the pro and con side of arguments. The goal is to give our students the tools to respectfully state their opinions and discuss them with other students.

  • The ultimate purpose of the debate club is to field a competitive debate team from the student body at ECS. The secondary purpose, however, is to give our student the tools to be able to work through topics in a healthy and respectful way.

  • Get ready to be up to your elbows in clay and learn to throw like a boss at this summer's week long Pottery Workshop with David Butler. David has taught art at ECS since 2001 and is excited to show you the tricks of the trade he has learned with over 25 years of working with ceramics. You'll spend a lot of time on the pottery wheel as well as work on a hand building project. Class size is limited to 10 so that attendees receive individual instruction at this specialty art camp. Each attendee will come home with a hand made box, drape bowl, wheel thrown mug, and wheel thrown bowls. To keep the class experience as rich as possible, this workshop is limited to adults only.

Clay, glazes, refreshments, and individual instruction are included in the class fee. You'll even come home with your own pottery tool kit!

Please wear old shoes and clothes as clay can be messy.

This class is non-refundable, but a spot can be transferable to another attendee.
