ECS students earned awards in multiple categories in this prestigious event.
The instrumental program at ECS is designed to give students a strong background in instrumental music that will enable them to perform music in many types of settings. The band program offers a safe Christian environment that will take students beyond the classroom experience. Students involved in the band program at ECS will acquire advanced musical skills, experience healthy competition, have numerous travel opportunities, and develop bonds and friendships for life.
Chris Wiggins is Director of Instrumental Music. He teaches Upper School Band, Contemporary Instrumental Music, and Middle School Band. An ECS alumnus graduating in 2010, Chris studied Instrumental Music Education at The University of Tennessee at Martin. He began teaching at ECS in 2016. Chris married Stephanie, also an ECS graduate, in 2015. They attend Mercy Hill Church as active covenant partners. Chris plays or helps with audio on Sunday mornings.
Chris' main instrument is trumpet - which he enjoys playing when his responsibilities at ECS are complete. He also enjoys playing other instruments such as clarinet, guitar, or mandolin to further develop as a professional musician.
