Steve was born in 1950 and raised with one older brother and two younger

sisters. He attended Overton High school where he excelled in academics as well as athletics, being chosen Mr. Overton upon graduating in 1968. 

Through his almost 60 years, Steve touched the lives of many, forging friendships through a wide array of experiences: sorrow and joy, fear and faith, struggles and victory. Steve was a great man because he stood upright with integrity and a desire for excellence.

He was a great man who loved the God he served with humility.

He was a great man because he was a life-long learner who appreciated the wisdom of others. 

He was a great man who was a loving, faithful husband to his wife, and devoted father to his children and grandchildren.
