STUDENT SUPPORT

ECS is committed to fostering a diverse learning community that desires to teach children in ways that embrace and grow each child’s level of ability and set of strengths. The Academic Resource Center (ARC) offers services for students who have a current psychological evaluation and want to utilize accommodations suggested on their evaluation.

The goal of Student Services is to equip students with skills and confidence that will build a platform of success from which they can succeed in academics and life. Learning Specialists seek to build relationships with students and guide them to develop and position a ladder upon which they can climb and step confidently on each skill rung of organization, advocacy, time management, classroom management, study skills, communication, and best practices based on learning styles and needs.

ECS offers the following services for any student with an up-to-date psychological evaluation:

Considering our experience with other schools in the area, the ARC truly sets ECS apart! The ARC’s support has taught our student to be a self-advocate which has built self-confidence to meet and exceed academic goals. Their professional guidance, loving support, and personal interest in our student has resulted in successful academic experiences at ECS.

My student describes the ARC as 'resourceful, a good place to be productive, encouraging, and supportive.'

As a family, we are so thankful for the ARC and ECS!

We would not be able to be a part of the ECS family without the services of the incredible people at the ARC.  We have one child with special educational needs, and now a second child recently diagnosed with different educational needs as well.

Coach Sanders and all the staff there have made our son’s experience at school a source of confidence-building and joy.  He loves coming to school, and that is only made possible through the assistance of the staff and tutors at the ARC.

We now look forward to our other child working with them as well.  We are so grateful that ECS makes it possible for exceptional kids with different needs to obtain a Christian education, and approaches each child as a unique creation in the image of God, and therefore worth investing in.

ECS’s commitment to continuing to learn how to best serve kids with different learning styles blows me away. My kids love being a part of the ARC community where they feel supported and encouraged. My boys have a safe place at ECS to go for assistance and advocates to help them navigate their school load. The ARC helps them stay organized and tailors their work in a way which they can understand. The ARC supports not only the children but the parents as well. We are journeying through this season of life together in a school where my children are flourishing! The support from the ARC for kids with learning differences is just one more way ECS reflects the love of Christ for all their students and families.
