Off to Neverland!

Schaeffer states, "The lordship of Christ should include an interest in the arts. A Christian should use these arts to the glory of God, not just as tracts, mind you, but as things of beauty to the praise of God."

I would encourage each of you to go see the Middle School production of Peter Pan Jr. I was able to watch it this morning at a matinee. The arts are a critical aspect of our school. Our heart and desire is to pursue excellence in all that we do. Several years ago, I read a treatise on the arts by Francis Schaeffer titled, Art and the Bible. It is an excellent apologia of how the arts glorify God. In presenting a robust vision for an appreciation of the arts, Schaeffer states, "The lordship of Christ should include an interest in the arts. A Christian should use these arts to the glory of God, not just as tracts, mind you, but as things of beauty to the praise of God."

The Middle School production of Peter Pan Jr. is the fruit of our incredibly talented students and Mrs. Cave's leadership. It is showing April 6-8 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel on our Shelby Farms campus. Tickets may be purchased at the door. In speaking about the arts, which could apply to Peter Pan, Schaeffer points out, "The Christian is the one whose imagination should fly beyond the stars." May we be a people who think and act out of the hope that awaits us as believers (Romans 15:13).
