Academics that Inspire. Legacies that Endure is what we stand for and what makes us special and unique.
In the summer of 2016, we launched a strategic plan called Vision 20|20. A vision, in the context of leading an institution, is simply dreaming about what could be. The intent of our strategic plan was to lay out a blueprint for what God may do in our midst by year 2020.
One of the action items within Vision 20|20 was to create a tagline or positioning statement. In the sphere of public relations and marketing, there is a difference between a tagline and a positioning statement. Essentially, ECS came up with a hybrid of a tagline and a positioning statement – a positioning line, which is "Academics that Inspire. Legacies that Endure." This positioning line is strategically located on our website and at the bottom our faculty and staff email signatures. It is what we stand for and what makes us special and unique. Over the coming few weeks, I will unpack for you what we mean by Academics that Inspire. Legacies that Endure. My intent in describing this for you is that you will be able to tell others – Why ECS?
