Mrs. Dawn Shute
M.A., Romances Languages with a concentration in Spanish, University of Memphis
Dawn Shute is in her 9th year at ECS and her 29th year in education. She has taught Spanish at the high school and college levels in the Memphis area for the past 23 years. Mrs. Shute is the chair of the Department of World Languages and coordinates the partnership between ECS and the Centro Educativo Blas Pascal in Merida, Mexico. She has taken 13 groups of students and faculty to Merida for cultural exchanges and mission trips since 2009. Mrs. Shute is also a sponsor for SLI and the Spanish Honor Society.
Mrs. Shute has been married to her husband Bobby for 23 years. They have two children, Daniel (ECS class of 2014) and Christina (ECS class of 2016). Both of them currently attend Wheaton College outside Chicago. The Shutes worship at Second Presbyterian Church and Mrs. Shute is active at the Comunidad Cristiana Esperanza.
