Mrs Rene Cave
René Cave has been part of the ECS family on and off for the past 45 years. Attending ECS from 2nd grade through graduation, she was very involved in band and theatre. During her college years she worked for the ECS drama department as an assistant as well as the color guard coach for the band. Immediately upon graduation from college, Rene’ worked full time for the upper school as a speech and drama teacher, director, and color guard sponsor for the band. After two years, Rene took a break to have children but continued teaching after school elementary drama classes. When drama was added to the middle school curriculum, she was asked to come back and teach middle school. Over the past 14 years, she has enjoyed teaching middle schoolers and directing middle school plays. Recently she added directing one high school show per year to her schedule.
René has been married to her husband Richard for 31 years. She has two children, Katie (class of 2009) and Jon Luke (class of 2013). Katie graduated from the University of Memphis and is married to her high school sweetheart Matt. Katie and Matt have a one year old daughter, Presley with a baby boy due in November. Jon Luke attends Mississippi State University with plans to major in Building Construction Science. He is engaged to ECS sweetheart Allie Whited and they plan to marry June 30. The Caves are charter members of Grace Evangelical Church where Richard is a high school youth worker and René is an active member of the worship team,
